DFEST ROCKS

We played DFest back in 2006 and I was pleasantly surprised at how well organized the festival was and the amount of participating talent and fans. Since then this festival has really gone on to become something much bigger than the festival we were part of in 2006. In just two short years this festival, which still showcases tons of "local" talent, has added on national acts that have really raised the festivals profile and allows up and coming bands to get more exposure and gives Oklahoma bands an additional boost of pride to be a part of such a cool event.

This year DFest looked no further than Oklahoma's own The All American Rejects, comprised of Okies who originally got their start in Sillwater. I remember one of their guitarists, Mike Kennerty, from high school, which oddly enough doesn't seem like very long ago, but it makes me feel really good to see hometown talent succeed in this crazy, roller coaster ride of an industry. Congrats Mike and gang - looking forward to seeing you guys put on a killer show at DFest this year!

Also, I'm very pumped about seeing The Roots for the first time and Jacob Fred again. Check out the DFest website for more info, tickets and to see the full roster of bands/acts: www.dfest.com. It's going to be the festival's best year yet!
